Superior Transmission Parts billet overdrive Super Servo for the GM 700R4, 4L60, 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E, 4L75E THM700-R4 MD8

This billet aluminum Super Servo is the 4th Gear apply piston & outer cover. This upgrade gives you better holding capacity in 4th gear. Firmer 3-4 shifts and more positive 4-3 down shifts. This servo utilizes a lip seal design on the piston for less fluid blow-by or leakage. The servo also provides proper 4-3 band release for no drag.

This servo is a must for any performance, towing, RV, or off-road transmission, but would be a nice upgrade for any 700-R4 or 4L60E.

This billet OD servo can be combined with the Corvette servo for even greater performance. These servo upgrades are the best changes you can make to your 700R4, 4L60E, 4L65E, or 4L70E automatic transmission. Installing this servo in lower mileage vehicles can add years to your transmission’s life. Higher mile transmissions can also benefit and help to postpone a costly rebuild.

This servo is easy to install and can be done with the transmission in the vehicle.

The recommended servo travel is 1/16”-1/8”. We are finding that when using the billet overdrive servo, this correct travel range is crucial. Any travel over 1/8” can create a situation of no overdrive gear. The long servo pin option on this item can help to get this travel within the correct range. The closer you can get to 1/16” travel the better.  The up and downshifts will be even quicker and can add more miles and years to your transmission’s life.

The kit comes with all of the necessary seals for installation including the outer cover o-ring.

I installed the overdrive Super Servo kit with the Corvette servo in my S10 Blazer with a 350 and 700R4. It was a bit tight underneath with that configuration, but the installation went smoothly. It definitely firmed-up the 1-2 shift, the 2-3 was slightly better, and the 3-4 was about the same as before. It wasn't quite the positive engagement that I was expecting. I was very careful about the OD piston seal direction and the free play was 3/32". It wasn't quite the magic I was hoping for, but I feel more confident about my potential transmission longevity, now.

Quality parts, take your time with the snap ring in reinstall.
Parts are very high quality, very happy with the performance. The instructions could be clearer, and be warned. If you don’t get the snap ring back in perfectly, it can slip out and break the side of the servo bore out. I have that problem but I was able to fix it. Some may not be so lucky, OPT should put a warning in the instructions

INSTALLED WITH THE CORVETTE SERVO IN MY 2006 TAHOE. SHIFTS WAY BETTER IN ALL GEARS FROM 1ST ALL THE WAY TO OVERDRIVE. CAN ACTUALLY FEEL IT SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE NOW.
