The accumulator plate in 45RFE and 545RFE units is weak and not held securely enough to withstand the action of the accumulator pistons. The OE plate flexes, causing the screws to loosen and break. The Sonnax accumulator cover plate 44892-01K is an upgrade over the OE plate and allows salvage of valve bodies with damaged plates. The plate is made of thicker steel and has three additional screw holes to hold the plate more securely. The 44892-TL thread tap forms stronger threads in the aluminum valve body. Features & Benefits: Accumulator plate is made from stronger, thicker material to prevent flexing. Three additional mounting holes and high torque-rated screws prevent the plate or screws from coming loose from normal vibration. Specially graded tap provides higher torque yield threads.
