The fittings on this cooler are 3/8" inverted flare.

Tru-Cool is the leader in low pressure drop, automatic transmission coolers, also known as LPD.

This is the ultimate cooler for heavy towing and is a must for heavy duty applications, including racing. Heat is what kills an automatic transmission. If you want to extend the life of your transmission and avoid a premature, costly rebuild, this is very cheap insurance.

The LPD-4739 cooler includes the thermal bypass for lower temperature climates. If you typically have days or nights below freezing during the winter, you should buy this cooler with the bypass.  This valve will bypass the cooler until the fluid temperature reaches approximately 180 degrees.

All parts and instructions are included to mount and plumb this cooler. If you want to install this cooler with upgraded hose and fittings, the 5/8”-18 threads in the cooler would allow you to convert over to AN style to use with braided or Socketless hose.  Upgraded line and fittings would need to be purchased separately.

Nice package
The unit appears well made. Although the mounting brackets looked substantial enough,I used full length extruded aluminum instead. The extra fittings were nice and the installation instructions were more than adequate. The unit was shipped right away and was undamaged upon arrival. Thank you for the shipping to Alaska!

Tru cool transmission cooler
So far so good. I received my tru cool tranny cooler in a couple of days. Looked at a lot of different coolers on the market. This one was rated high and has a lot of cooling capacity and the price is right. I installed the cooler on my 2002 GMC 2500HD truck. It took me a couple of hours and the kit came with everything I needed. I just had enough hose. I installed the thermostat that came with this kit as well. It’s working good so far. I haven’t had the time to put it thru the real test as of yet. I tow a 24 foot travel trailer with two ATVs on the back of my truck. The stock tranny cooler wasn’t adequate with this load on a hot day. This new cooler is 4 times the size of the old one.
